Also see the Bridge Deck Repair Projects webpage.

Project No.:  1134049
Project limits:  Landsburg Road SE at Cedar River, 1.5 miles north of SE Kent
Project type:  Bridge
Thomas Bros. Map No.:  718G3

Project description

Repair the deck by scarifying the deck and overlaying it with a structural overlay.

Why is King County doing this project?

Twenty-four percent of the deck area has been patched and continues to develop spalling. The deck requires constant maintenance. A structural overlay is needed to maintain the useful life of the bridge and to reduce maintenance costs. To reduce the traffic impact to the bridge structure based on the history of the approach settlement, installation of an approach slab is also warranted. This will help with reducing vibration of the deck due to the impact of the traffic.

Project management phase:  Construction Completed

Status as of January 28, 2020

Construction started July 29, 2019. A 21 day full closure of the bridge is anticipated to start on 8/9/2019 at 7AM and end on 8/29/2019 at 11 pm. The project was substantially comlplete on October 29, 2019.
