Project description

To reconstruct 1.36 miles of 218th Avenue SE from SE Auburn Black Diamond Road to SE Green Valley Road. This includes excavating and replacing the roadway base, rebuilding the road with required drainage, and overlaying and striping the road, including the shoulder area.

Why is King County doing this project?

This section of roadway is ranked on the Rehab / Reconstruction Priority Array. Located just west of the City of Black Diamond, 218th Avenue SE is a Tier 2 road, and a King County lifeline and evacuation route. The road runs north to south, and connects with SE Auburn Black Diamond Road on the north and SE Green Valley Road on the south. It offers travelers from Black Diamond access to urban centers to the west.
