Budget Hearing Tonight and throughout October

Today, October 1, at 6:30 p.m. there will be a special meeting of the King County Budget and Fiscal Management Committee to discuss the Executive proposed 2014 King County Budget.
There will be an open public comment period as well as members of the Budget Committee there to answer questions and review details of the upcoming 2014 Budget.

This is the first of four evening public meetings and I encourage you to attend. Further details on tonight's public Budget meeting:

When: October 1 at 6:30 pm
Where: Bellevue City Hall, City Hall Chambers, 450 110th Ave. NE, Bellevue

If you can't make it to tonight's meeting, the Budget Committee will hold three other night meetings this month, all meetings begin at 6:30 pm:

Tuesday, October 8 - Maleng Regional Justice Center, Courtroom 3F, 401 4th Avenue North, Kent
Wednesday, October 16 - Si View Community Center, 400 SE Orchard Drive, North Bend
Tuesday, October 22- King County Courthouse, County Council Chambers, 10th Flr, 516 Third Avenue, Seattle

As Chair of the King County Flood Control District, I wanted to let you know that October is flood awareness month in King County. As the recent tragic flooding in Colorado has shown, we never know when a serious flood may occur. Now more than ever it is important we take the risk of flooding seriously and take the necessary steps well ahead of time to prepare and be ready.
