A new day for the Sheriff's Office and residents of southeast King County
The Hicks – Raburn King County Sheriff's Office Precinct in Maple Valley was officially unveiled and re-opened for business March 18 at a special ribbon cutting ceremony. The families of Sergeant Samuel Hicks and Detective Michael Raburn, whom the precinct is named after, were there to help commemorate this special occasion.
I joined Executive Dow Constantine, Sheriff John Urquhart, and Congressman Dave Reichert in addressing those in attendance about the importance of this precinct for the surrounding communities. The Hicks – Raburn Precinct was built as a police station and has all of the support services and tools deputies need to effectively protect the unincorporated residents of Southeast King County. This precinct has always been a vital community resource and having it funded and re-opened was one of my top budget priorities.
Take a moment and view the videos of this important event: Watch here or here to see the full ceremony.
Upcoming townhall meetings/ Community Service Area open houses
In the coming weeks I'll be taking part in a series of town hall meetings throughout the unincorporated areas of District 9. Please join me, King County Sheriff John Urquhart and other County officials and hear from your elected leaders, ask questions, and participate in these important community events.
