Alpine Lakes Expansion

Last year I travelled to Washington D.C. to testify on behalf of H.R. 361, legislation sponsored by Congressman Dave Reichert that would expand the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. I am pleased to report that last week this legislation cleared an important hurdle when it was passed out of the House Natural Resources Committee with a favorable recommendation.

I have been proud to partner with Congressman Reichert since 2007 to help preserve this area for recreation and habitat.

Although the legislation has passed favorably out of Committee, there are still several steps left and work to be done, but this designation is now one step closer to reality. I will continue to be a vocal supporter until its ultimate adoption.
