Dear Neighbor:

Thank you for taking the time to read my e-Newsletter. I have learned a lot by traveling around King County and listening to constituents on a wide range of topics. June brought several exciting events to our region as well as two Town Hall Meetings.

The first Town Hall addressed rising crime in unincorporated King County, and the second was with King County Assessor Lloyd Hara to discuss property taxes.Orion Groundbreaking

24th Annual Flag Day Celebration
June 8th, 2013
Flag dayFor this year’s Flag Day Celebration at the King County Weyerhaeuser Aquatic Center, I was pleased to welcome General Peter W. Chiarelli, USA (ret). General Chiarelli was a four star General and served as commander of Multi National forces in Iraq, and is a leading advocate for research and treatment of TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) and PTS (Post Traumatic Stress).

In my remarks honoring our flag, I noted:
“Freedom isn’t free. Our flag represents our gift of freedom and justice to ourselves and to the world. When we honor the America flag, we honor all those who serve her at home and abroad. It is important to embrace the liberties and pride we have as Americans.”

MATE International ROV Championship

I welcomed more than 1,000 people to the MATE ROV Championships at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center.
