Dear Friends:

Today's story in Sports Press NW highlights Herman Sarkowsky as one of the great icons of our region. Whether it was the founding of the Seattle Seahawks, Portland Trailblazers, Seattle Sounders or Emerald Downs, Herman was there.

I considered Herman Sarkowsky not only a friend but one of the reasons that the Northwest has such a strong sports presence. Herman knew that sports bring economic and social benefits to a region. I encourage you all to take time to read up about the man with the platinum touch.
