Executive’s proposed changes to 2017 Comprehensive Plan & Vashon-Maury Island CSA Subarea Plan
On October 3, the King County Executive transmitted an updated version of the proposed 2017 Comprehensive Plan and Vashon-Maury Island Community Service Area (CSA) Subarea Plan as Striking Amendment “S1” to Proposed Ordinance 2017-0317. The Executive’s Striking Amendment proposes to amend and replace the previous version of the plan that was transmitted to the Council on July 21.
On October 4, the Council’s Transportation, Economy and Environment(TrEE) Committee received a briefing on the Executive’s proposed changes included in the Striking Amendment. Public comments were taken at the briefing.
The Executive Branch has scheduled a community meeting on Tuesday, October 10, 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., at McMurray Middle School, 9329 SW Cemetery Rd on Vashon Island. At the meeting, Executive staff will present the elements of the updated plan proposed in the Striking Amendment, and an opportunity for public comments will be provided.
The TrEE Committee is scheduled to vote on the proposed plan on October 17. An opportunity for public comments will be provided at this meeting. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. and additional details will be provided closer to the date. A formal public hearing and potential final action on the proposed plan by the full Council is currently scheduled for December 4.
Written comments on the proposed plan are welcome at any time during the Council’s review of the Executive’s proposal. Comments can be easily submitted electronically, either by emailing CouncilCompPlan@kingcounty.gov or clicking on the “Submit online public testimony” button on the home page of the Council’s 2017 Comprehensive Plan website.
