October 17 committee vote on 2017 Comprehensive Plan & Vashon-Maury Island CSA Subarea Plan
A vote in the Transportation, Economy and Environment(TrEE) Committee on the proposed 2017 update to the 2016 King County Comprehensive Plan and the proposed adoption of the 2017 Vashon-Maury Island Community Service Area (CSA) Subarea Plan is scheduled for Tuesday, October 17. The committee meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the Council Chambers on the 10th Floor of the King County Courthouse, at 516 3rd Ave, Seattle, WA. This is currently scheduled as item #10 on the committee agenda and will include potential action on:
- The Executive’s proposed Striking Amendment S1 to Proposed Ordinance 2017-0317, which is a new version of the 2017 update to the 2016 Comprehensive Plan and Vashon-Maury Island CSA Subarea Plan. The Striking Amendment includes substantive changes to the proposed Subarea Plan, updated land use and zoning proposals, additional changes to the 2016 KCCP; and changes to the proposed Affordable Housing Incentive Special District Overlay (SDO) regulations;
- Several proposed individual amendments to Striking Amendment S1; and
- Recommendation of the Proposed Ordinance, as amended, to the full Council.
All of the amendments that are currently proposed can be found on the Council’s Comprehensive Plan website. A written staff report for the Committee meeting has also been posted online. If you are not able to attend the meeting in person, it can be viewed live on KCTV cable channel 22 or online.
There will be an opportunity for public comment on any aspect of the 2017 Comprehensive Plan and Vashon-Maury Island CSA Subarea Plan during this committee meeting. Written comments on the proposed plan are welcome at any time during the Council’s review of the Executive’s proposal. Comments can be easily submitted electronically, either by emailing CouncilCompPlan@kingcounty.gov or clicking on the “Submit online public testimony” button on the home page of the Council’s 2017 Comprehensive Plan website.
After committee action, the Proposed Ordinance will go before the full Council for further review and refinement, with a public hearing and possible adoption scheduled for December 4.
