Dear Neighbor:
When we think about vaccinations, we usually think about babies and children. Most of us were vaccinated as children and think that we are safe from many of the major illnesses. However, some vaccinations can wear off and need boosters. Others, such as the flu shot, need to be administered every year in order to protect against that season’s particular strain. Finally, we may not be aware of new vaccinations that have been developed in the past few years to protect us from illnesses that affect us as we get older.
Below is a link to a chart that provides a schedule for recommended adult immunizations for ages 19 and older. There are many potentially lethal illnesses, and I hope you will take a moment to review this chart and make sure that you are up-to-date with your shots.
